Ted lives in Thneedville, an artificial city with no vegetation. To impress Audrey, he sets out in search of a real tree and meets the Gash-piller, a reclusive hermit who tells him the story of the Lorax, guardian of the Truffala forest. Between memories, revelations, and dangers, Ted must thwart O’Hare’s plans to bring back the last seed and restore nature to life.
In this colorful universe, Ted’s journey reveals a story about protection and the consequences of excessive exploitation of resources. The Lorax, a gruff but endearing creature, embodies this struggle by defending the Truffalas against massive deforestation.

Produced by Illumination Entertainment, the film faithfully recreates Dr. Seuss’s aesthetic while expanding on it. The teams built Thneedville, drawing inspiration from cities such as Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi. The Truffalas, designed in 3D, presented a technical challenge due to their spiral foliage, requiring precise animation to remain consistent with the original work.
